The LatestTransforming Martumili Artistry Into an Immersive Audiovisual Experience
At PAV, we feel honoured to contribute to projects that celebrate Australia's long and rich cultural heritage, such as the Warrarnku Ninti celebration in Newman.
Warrarnku Ninti (which means "Knowledge of Country") is a significant event celebrating the rich cultural history and artistry of the Martu people. We were privileged to contribute by transforming an incredible collection of paintings by Martumili Artists into an immersive audiovisual experience.
Having worked on previous instalments, we were eager to create something unique and elevate the experience of this year's celebration.
We decided to debut some of our latest equipment in honour of the occasion, including our newly acquired:
- 20 by 7-metre shark's tooth scrim, a unique feature that played a pivotal role in visual storytelling.
- Panasonic 30,000-lumen projectors, which brought the Martu artists' work to life in vivid colour and detail.
Creating a Sense of Place for the Event:
The transformation began with a blank canvas, where we used red pindan and riverbed sands to create a floor projection surface, grounding the installation in the land it celebrates.

The colours and clarity brought by these projectors were nothing short of stunning, adding depth and vibrancy to the immersive experience.
Working on the Warrarnku Ninti celebration was more than just a project—it was an opportunity to share our passion for AV while supporting a community cause close to our hearts. We're honoured to have played a role in celebrating the Martu artists and their connection to the Country.
