Illuminating Culture: How PAV’s Projection Mapping Transformed EverNow Festival

EverNow Festival is a standout event in Perth’s cultural calendar.

It unites art, technology, and the community to celebrate the beauty and diversity of Western Australia.

The 2024 edition marked another unforgettable chapter, offering an immersive experience that captivated the senses while illuminating rich traditions of the land.

We were proud to be a key player in bringing the project to life, utilising our boundary-pushing audiovisual technology and projection mapping expertise to contribute to two standout installations:

• Bena Koorliny: From the Light Flow at Burswood Park, and

• Boorna Waanginy: The Trees Speak at Kings Park.

From the Light Flow: Bena Koorliny 🌟

This year, PAV had the pleasure of bringing to life From the Light Flow: Bena Koorliny, a stunning installation projected onto towering concrete silos at Burswood Park.

In collaboration with Groupe F, a world-renowned sky theatre and fireworks company, we provided cutting-edge technology and technical expertise to deliver this spectacular light and performance show for its Australian debut after wowing audiences in Paris for Bastille Day.

The experience combined light projections, fire, and live performance, adapted to highlight the deep connection between the natural world and Noongar culture.

Over four nights, audiences were treated to mesmerising displays and captivating performances celebrating Western Australia’s nature and cultural richness.

Boorna Waanginy: The Trees Speak

For the third year, we delivered Boorna Waanginy: The Trees Speak to Kings Park.

This iconic projection mapping installation, created in collaboration with digital animator Sohan Hayes, transforms local Indigenous artwork into an immersive experience.

As attendees wander through the installation, they witness scenes of regrowth, fire, rain, and plant and animal life flourishing—all projected onto the treetops of Kings Park.

Each year, we push the limits of what’s possible, combining high-tech 35,000-lumen projections, animation, sound, and song, to help tell stories of caring for Country.

Both these incredible projects are demonstrative of our unwavering commitment to delivering exceptional audiovisual experiences that inspire, engage, and forge deeper connections with audiences, while pushing the boundaries of innovation.
