State of Social is Australia’s premier digital marketing conference, and it’s proudly based in WA! 

Each year, creatives from across the country and around the world flock to Perth for inspiration and to debate the latest updates on all things digital. 

In fact, this year marked the first time ever that WA locals were outnumbered at the 1000-strong, two-day event.

For nearly a decade, we've partnered with Meg Coffey and her team to bring this conference to life, continually pushing the boundaries to ensure each edition leaves attendees inspired and excited for the next.

For years, we've managed all audiovisual components for this mammoth event, overseeing everything from presentations and video to sound, lighting, and live broadcasting, ensuring State of Social runs like a well-oiled machine.

This year, we were excited to expand our role by providing full-suite event management services. If we do say so ourselves, the event has never run more smoothly.

Some highlights of ours:

  • Seamless registration: A new approach to check-ins created a pleasant, flowing entrance for attendees.
  • Flawless presentations: Audiovisual components came together in harmony, creating a seamless and immersive experience. 
  • Real-time highlight reel: Before the event has even concluded, our team showcases to guests a video highlighting all the best parts from an action-packed two days.

Event Management: A New Approach

Previous iterations of State of Social have faced some challenges, particularly with managing the influx of over 1000 patrons entering a large venue within a tight 30-minute window. This requires meticulous organisation and strategy to ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience.

Let's just say, there are definitely less organised approaches.

But who better to tackle this challenge than the team that lives and breathes Optus Stadium? As the venue’s official AV suppliers, we know the lay of the land.

Our event design created an intuitive entry process, placing check-in desks in spacious areas and incorporating checkpoints. 

This approach eliminated long lines and delays, ensuring the schedule ran smoothly without any knock-on effects throughout the day.

It's not just us – multiple speakers throughout the event pointed it out. They consistently highlighted the surprising lack of hiccups.

Watching the room light up as they reflect on the event—while also wondering how it all came together—makes the tight deadline worth it every time!
